Storm Summary and Projection:
Hurricane Summary POSTED: July 29, 2014 10:57 a.m. Hernan Degenerates into Remnant Low Tropical Storm Hernan has degenerated into a remnant low in the open waters of the Pacific well west of Mexico. What is left of the system is expected to drift westward over the next day or two before it dissipates. The remnant low of what was once Tropical Storm Genevieve is several hundred miles southeast of Hilo, Hawaii. Conditions are marginally favorable for development over the next couple of days as it passes south of the islands. Any development that does occur will be slow, however. A second area of disturbed weather, located several hundred miles southwest of the southwestern coast of Mexico, remains disorganized at this time. As the system moves steadily westward, it is expected to become better organized slowly later this week. Regardless, this feature is not expected to be a threat to any land mass in the foreseeable future. By AccuWeather Senior Meteorologist Brian Wimer
